  Classroom
Teaching computer skills or successful information search strategies is significantly different from teaching history, literature or the sciences, but it is no less dependent upon sound pedagogy. Regardless of discipline or level of expertise, information workers can be stymied by our increasingly complex information universe. Knowing how to locate, access and evaluate information demands information literacy. In this sense, information literacy is a critical component of lifelong learning, not just mastery of the latest information technologies. Users need to be able to utilize the technologies available today, be prepared to approach emerging systems with research savvy, and to go forward with confidence built on today’s successes.
